Workshops

Bring the kids here for our special event cooking workshops and have an evening to yourselves. Try to catch a movie at the Laemmle Movie Theater or try out one of the local restaurants. These classes are usually held on the weekends and tend to run a bit longer than our regular classes.

WORKSHOP POLICIES:

Please read as our classes have limited spaces:

-No reminder emails or phone calls will be sent. Please mark your calendar as a reminder.

-All deposits and payments are non-refundable.

-If a cancellation is made with notification with no less than a week before the class, the total minus a $20 deposit can be refunded.

-Cancellations will receive no refunds or transfers if made with less than a week before class. You are welcome to send someone else in your place, with prior notification.

-No-shows will receive no future credits or refunds.

-If a reservation is made with a Gift Certificate, the certificate will be considered used at the time the reservation was made. No transfers or credits.

-Workshops have age restrictions and will be enforced.

We try to accommodate all situations but there is only so much we can do. Thank you for understanding.

Halloween Pizza and Cake Pops

October 27th 4:30 to 6:30pm

Ages 7 to 14

It's time for the scariest workshop ever! Kids will learn to make Tombstone Pizza's and then learn to create Ghost, Witch, and Jack-O-Lantern Cakepops. Sign up if you dare!

(Boy) Scout Merit Badge Workshop

Scouts only, not for Cub Scouts

November 16th, 1:30 to 3:30pm

This class is open to all troops and single scouts can sign up. We will cover all that is described below to fulfill the requirements of the badge. Space is limited to 10 Scouts and prepayment is required.

$50 per scout

  •   Here is what is covered: 1 a. -1e. 2 a.-2 e. 3 a.-3 c. Cooking page 10 b and c Cooking page 26 g and h 7 pages 32-33

  •   Here is what is not covered: 4. Cooking at home 5. Camp Cooking 6. Trail and backpacking meals.

  • In class, we will do about 45 minutes of cooking- Campfire potatoes and Campfire Biscuits with Honey Butter. These recipes can then be replicated at a campsite. We cover kitchen safety, knife skills, plus basic cooking techniques. We will then go through the book step by step, covering the above sections. 

  •   Boys should wear class B uniforms

  •   Boys need to print out, fill out completely, and bring with them the Cooking Merit Badge worksheets. Click HERE to download

  • Unprepared scouts may be removed from the workshop with no refund. Scouts are always prepared.
